Guptill’s is open from spring till late October. Hours are 11am to 9:30 pm (Sun-Thu) and 11am-10:30pm (Fri and Sat). The servings are generous. They carry both premium hard ice cream (39 flavors) and soft serve ice cream (14 flavors!). They also carry hard (6 flavors) and soft yogurt (7 flavors) and 1 hard non-dairy and 2 sugar free/fat free ice cream flavors. Multiple cone types. waffle bowl sundaes, brownie sundaes and strawberry shortcake sundaes. They also have 11 sundae toppings, (including Sugar Free/Fat free Hot Fudge) and 23 flavors of ice cream shakes and 18 flavors of yogurt shakes. Service is good and fairly quick if very busy. Staff is friendly. Lines can be long but worth the wait! They also have a roller skating rink!

My husband wanted to take a ride over to try Guptills while vacationing in the Queensbury area (from Long Is.). This was because of two reasons: The frequent advertisements he hears on WROW, and because his grandmother was a Guptill. It was the freshest, creamiest and most delicious real cream ice cream I’ve ever had. we were harassed by yellow jackets, but the employees could not be kinder and sweeter and the scoops were huge!

Our family has been visiting Guptils for years. The prices are a bit high, but so are the prices everywhere. It amazes me how some people expect Michelin star performance from small local shops. This is an ICE CREAM shop. The huge crowds of returning customers attest to their popularity. And deservedly so. I worked for 2 different ice cream shops years ago as a teen. As such, I can attest that those servers at Guptils work VERY hard during their shifts, and remain fun and friendly regardless. BEST ICE CREAM SHOP IN THE ALBANY AREA!
